On Friday September 11 it was finally time again: after the summer break we kicked off the second edition of Goa Gubbars SlagsmålsTurnering at Kappa Bar. 14 players, double elimination, a stream running all night, and a grand final where both sets came down to the last game.

It was good to see that interest in GGST didn’t cool off over the summer. If anything we got both familiar faces and a few new ones who weren’t shy about pushing hard from the very first match.

Between sets there was as much hanging out as there was playing. People gathered around the tables, talked matchups and kept an eye on whatever was running on the screens.

The stream was run from a corner of the bar all night, and the commentators had no trouble finding energy once the matches started running long.

The bracket stayed up on the big screen all evening, which made it easy to keep track of who was on deck and who had already been sent down to losers.

Big congratulations to Caer for taking the whole thing with Testament, and to Rapthorn and KOE for silver and bronze!

Grand finals came down to the wire: Caer ran it back from losers, forced a bracket reset against Rapthorn 3-2 and then took the second set 3-2 as well. Watch the whole thing here:
